The Victron Quattro 48/8000/110-100/100 is a highly versatile hybrid inverter/charger that intelligently combines a powerful 8000VA 48V pure sine wave inverter, a sophisticated 110A adaptive battery charger, and a dual 100A high-speed AC transfer switch into one robust unit. With its dual AC inputs, multiple outputs, and wide range of advanced features, the Quattro is an ideal solution for off-grid, backup, and hybrid energy systems in both residential and commercial applications.

Key functions:

1. 8000VA 48V pure sine wave inverter:

• Converts DC power from a 48V battery bank into 230V AC mains electricity.
• Capable of delivering 6400W of continuous power with an impressive 16,000W peak power capacity for starting appliances with heavy inrush currents (e.g. pumps, compressors, air conditioners).
• Pure sine wave output ensures full compatibility with sensitive electronics and appliances.

2. Adaptive 110A 4-stage smart charger:

• Advanced multi-stage charging (bulk, absorption, float, storage) for safe, efficient, and fully automated charging of 48V batteries.
• The adaptive charging algorithm optimises the charging process according to battery usage, extending service life and performance.
• Suitable for a wide range of lead-acid and lithium battery technologies.

3. Dual 100A AC transfer switches:

• The Quattro is equipped with two independent AC inputs, which can be connected to different power sources (e.g. grid and generator, or dual generators). It automatically switches to the active source.
• AC Output 1 provides no-break functionality, ensuring uninterrupted supply to critical loads. If the grid or generator fails, the Quattro seamlessly switches to battery/inverter power in under 20 milliseconds, preventing downtime for sensitive electronics.
• AC Output 2 is only live when AC input is present, ideal for non-critical loads such as water heaters, ensuring batteries are not unnecessarily discharged.

Additional intelligent features:

• PowerControl: Prevents generator or grid overload by dynamically managing the AC input current. The Quattro intelligently prioritises loads and allocates remaining capacity to battery charging.
• PowerAssist: Supplements limited grid or generator power with additional inverter power from the batteries. This ensures peak demand periods are covered without requiring oversized AC sources.
• Parallel & Three-phase capability: Up to 6 Quattros can be connected in parallel for higher power, and three units can be configured for true three-phase output. Up to 4x sets of three 8kVA Quattros can be combined, reaching 76.8kW / 96kVA of inverter power and 1320A charging capacity.
• Split-phase option: When combined with a Victron autotransformer, a split-phase output (240V/60Hz) can be created from a 230V model.
• Off-grid and grid-connected capability: Fully compatible with solar PV and hybrid systems, including both grid-tie inverters and MPPT solar chargers. Built-in loss of mains detection allows safe grid interaction.
• Programmable relay and Assistants: Customisable functions for generator auto-start, system integration, and advanced energy management via Victron Assistants software.
• Remote monitoring and control: Compatible with GX devices (e.g. Cerbo GX, Color Control GX) and the free Victron VRM portal, allowing monitoring and configuration from anywhere in the world.
